Threads app allows users to see posts you have liked

Published on 23.04.2024 by Tracey Chizoba Fletcher

Meta's text-based application, Threads, is introducing a new feature that allows users to view their liked posts following an update to the app. The company began testing the feature on its Android beta platform. However, over the weekend, Meta expanded the availability of this feature to all users.

How to see likes on threads (explained)

Meta powered Threads is the direct competitor of Twitter (X). After Elon Musk bought the company, Meta decided that text-based social networks would be a good idea. In many terms, X was way better than Threads. There have been a number of features that Threads lack compared to X. As of now, the Meta team covered lots of features and one of the last ones is “checking posts you liked on Threads”. Here's how to check which posts you've liked on Threads:

  • Make sure your app is updated to the latest version.
  • Tap the profile icon in the bottom right corner.
  • Click on the two horizontal lines at the top right to open settings.
  • Select "Your Likes" from the menu.

While it's unclear if Threads will ever allow others to view your list of liked posts, many users appreciate the ability to see them themselves. This feature can also serve as a temporary bookmark system.

Remember that the person who made the post you liked will see that you interacted with it. In addition to this feature, Threads now lets you adjust the quality of media (videos and images) that you upload. You can find this option in the settings menu under "account" and then "media quality."

Does Threads show who viewed your profile?

Profile views on Threads represent how many people have visited your profile and provide insights into their demographics, such as age and gender. It's a quick way to get a snapshot of who's interested in you. Your profile serves as your identity on the app, so having an engaging and updated bio is key. A well-curated profile can attract more followers. If users like your posts, they might even share your profile link on other platforms to promote you.

While some users keep their profiles private to avoid unwanted attention, many find it beneficial for building connections. However, not everyone is comfortable with others knowing when they've visited a profile, which can lead to misunderstandings. This is why some platforms don't show who has viewed your profile to respect privacy. It helps users avoid awkward interactions and maintain a sense of security while browsing.
