YouTube Monetisation Guide How Much YouTube Pays Per View
Published on 12.04.2024 by Tracey Chizoba Fletcher
If you are a content creator on YouTube, one of the questions you may have is the requirement for monetization. YouTube monetization is a key concern for many creators as it helps them start a side hustle or even make a full-time income working on the platform.
You may also want to know how much YouTube pays per view if your videos are already receiving views. With the different monetization options available, all with different requirements, it can be hard to understand the requirements and earning potential. Fortunately, this article will guide you on YouTube monetization and answer how much YouTube pays per view.

What is YouTube Monetization?
YouTube monetization is the program that allows creators to monetize their work on the platform. The income from YouTube is usually generated in different ways. Still, it is primarily from ads that YouTube posts in their videos either before, during, or after they have finished playing. YouTube has set several conditions that creators need to adhere to before they can monetize their videos.
Requirement for Joining the YouTube Monetization Program
Before you can start monetizing your videos and earning from views, you will need to apply for the YouTube Partner Program. This is the program that allows content creators to earn from their videos. Content creators must meet several conditions before they enroll in this program. These are:
Follow YouTube monetization policy
YouTube has some guidelines and policies that content creators should comply with before joining the YPP. These are like rules books guiding creators on YouTube on how they should behave. They apply to different elements on the platform, from videos to thumbnails and comments.
Subscribers and Watch Hours
You must have accumulated at least 4,000 watch hours in the last year. This metric will show that your videos are engaging and have returning viewers. The watch hours of the long videos and shorts are counted separately.
You also need to have a minimum of 1000 subscribers. This number will show YouTube that your channel has a dedicated audience ready to view your videos.
Active AdSense Account
You should have an active AdSense account. AdSense is a Google advertising method that allows content creators to display ads on their videos or websites. If you don't have AdSense, you should create one to link it to your YouTube account.

Monetized Location
You should be living in a jurisdiction where YouTube monetization is possible. Remember that this rule considers where you live and not the target location of your content. This is for several reasons, such as living in a country reputed for fraudulent activities. If there is a vast number of YouTube content creators earning money fraudulently on the platform, the country can get blacklisted.
Two-step Verification
You should have added a security layer to your Google account through the two-step verification.
Have No Strikes for Community Guidelines
If your account has ever been stricken for breaking the community guidelines, you will be disqualified from monetizing it. Therefore, when creating content, you must ensure it adheres to the community standards and can be used for advertising. If you get a community guideline strike, you will be informed through the YouTube studio or by email. You will be informed of the content that has been removed, the exact guidelines it broke, and the effect it has on your channel. You will also be advised on the next step.
If it's your first time violating the YouTube community guidelines, it will only result in a warning. If you get another strike within 90 days, some privileges will be removed. Some of these privileges include:
- Going live
- Uploading playlists
- Creating playlists with friends
After one week, the privileges will be restored, but the strike will remain on your channel for 90 days. If you have three strikes in 90 days, your channel will be permanently removed from the platform.
Joining the YouTube Partner Program
After you have met all the monetization requirements, you should apply for the monetization program. To do that, you will need to visit the YouTube Earn page. This page tracks the number of subscribers and watch hours you have. If you are qualified, YouTube will give you a green light on this page.
When you apply for monetization for the first time and are rejected, you are given 21 days to appeal. After that, you can only reapply after 21 days. If you get rejected for the second time, you are given 21 days to appeal. After that, you can only reapply after 90 days.
Though this may appear harsh, it's a good approach as it shows that YouTube prioritizes new applicants over repeat applicants. It's advisable to use the time to fix any issues that may have caused the strike.

Steps to Apply for the YouTube Monetization
When ready to apply for monetization, you can go to YouTube Studio. On the navigation menu located on the left, click on Earn. That will take you to the YPP application page, where you should complete four steps. These are:
- Go through the YPP terms of service and accept them.
- Set up the Google AdSense account and connect it to your channel.
- Add the two-factor authentication for your channel
- Give YouTube time to review your channel and provide you with feedback
How long Does it Take to Get Accepted to the YouTube Partner Program?
After completing the official application process, how long will it take to get monetized? According to the official YouTube page, you can expect to get feedback from YouTube within one month. However, many creators suggest that they have been monetized before that. Some have been monetized in as little as 72 hours. So, you need to keep checking your email.
How to Reapply After You Have Been Rejected
Getting denied the chance to monetize your channel after putting in much effort can be disappointing. But as we noted earlier, you don’t have to be disappointed as you can always reapply. According to YouTube, creators should avoid uploading videos that:
- Look like duplicates.
- Reusing other creator's videos that aren't original or transformative.
- Manipulating their engagement to improve their number of likes, views, subscribers, watch time, and more.
- Engaging in illegal activities such as pretending to be someone else or engaging in scams.
Even if you are already a partner in the program, making one of the above mistakes can lead to suspension. If suspended, you must go through the 21-day appeal and then the 30-day wait.
Turning on Ads
You can now apply for monetization when you are accepted into the program, and your videos meet the advertiser-friendly content guidelines. You can determine if your videos qualify through the self-certification guidance on the monetization page.
When you turn on ads, this doesn't mean that ads will automatically appear in all your content. Before an ad appears on your videos, it will be reviewed by the system or even a human being to determine if it meets their guidelines. When you turn on video ads, you confirm you have the necessary video and image rights. YouTube also streams hundreds of free shows; therefore, such cannot be monetized.
How Much YouTube Pays Per View
Now that you understand the monetization guidelines and requirements, it's time to understand the most important part: how much YouTube pays per view. You should realize that the amount you will earn is dependent on different factors. These include the budget of the advertiser and the location of the viewer.
For instance, if you run a gaming tutorial on YouTube, your earnings will differ from that of someone who runs a celebrity gossip channel. It should also be considered that YouTube takes 45% of ad earnings and content creators earn 55%. Therefore, for every 10 ad revenue paid, YouTube will take $45, while content creators will take $55.So, how much does YouTube pay?
YouTube pays are between $0.01 and $0.03 per view. That means you can earn between $10 and $30 for every 1000 views. However, since this number is affected by the factors we listed above. It is just an estimate, and the actual amount can be lower or higher than this.
How Much Can You Make With YouTube Shorts For 100 Views?
While it's a relatively new feature borrowed from TikTok, YouTube Shorts allows content creators to upload videos for up to 60 seconds. Similarly, TikTok is introducing 30-minute videos to challenge YouTube. Currently, YouTube allows the monetization of YouTube shorts. You can make between $0.01 and $0.06 per 1000 views. As you may have noticed, this figure is lower than that of long-form videos.
Therefore, making meaningful income from YouTube Shorts can be hard unless you get millions of views. But it is also worth noting that YouTube pushes YouTube short videos more in a bid to compete with TikTok. Therefore, you may not have to put as much effort into monetizing with YouTube Shorts as you would need to do with long-form videos.

Steps to Monetizing YouTube Shorts
YouTube Shorts are one of the latest YouTube trends. Earning through YouTube Shorts is a bit different from earning through long-form videos. One of the key differences is that the revenue from YouTube Shorts is shared between different parties, such as creators and the holders of the music rights. Here are the steps YouTube follows when determining YouTube Shorts earnings:
- All the revenue from YouTube Shorts is put in a pool.
- YouTube calculates the amount that goes to the creator pool. This usually depends on the number of views and how the creator uses music in the short videos. For instance, if creators aren't using music in their shorts, they retain all the earnings. But if they do, their revenue will be split between them and the owner of the music.
- If you are a monetized creator, YouTube will distribute the music revenue. This will depend on the total number of views the creator gets.
- Creators keep 45% of the revenue.
Example of How The YouTube Shorts Monetization Works
Let us now look at an example of how the YouTube Shorts earnings work:
- Assuming you are a creator in the U.S., you upload a short video that receives 1 million views.
- That month, the number of views for shorts uploaded in the United States was 400 million. From the ads appearing in those shorts, YouTube makes $400,000.
- From the monetized shorts,30% aren’t using any music, while another 30% use only one track. The other 40% uses two tracks.
- YouTube allocates funds to creators depending on the number of views per short. Based on our example, here is how the revenue will be distributed.
- 100% of the revenue earned by videos with no music will be put in the creator fund.
- Half of the revenue for creators using one track will be put in the creator fund.
- 33% of the revenue earned by videos with two tracks will be put into the creator's funds.
Therefore, YouTube will allocate $220,000 to the creator pool while the rest of the funds will be allocated to the music copyright holders. The one million views you got account for O.125% of the total views. That means your earnings will be 0.125% of $220,000, which is $275. You will be paid 45% of the creator's fund, bringing your earnings to $123. Your earnings per 1000 views are, therefore, $1.23(123/1000)
Other Ways to Earn with YouTube Shorts
Besides the YouTube Partner Program, there are some other ways you can make money with YouTube Shorts. These are:
Affiliate Marketing
This is a program where you promote another business's products for a commission. So, when marketing products on YouTube Shorts, you can add an affiliate link to the comment section of the YouTube Short.
For instance, if your YouTube Short reviews the Samsung Galaxy S24, you can register for the Amazon affiliate program and include a link to the phone in the comment section. You get paid a commission when someone clicks on the link and buys the products or any other product on Amazon.

Product Sales
Another option is to get your products to sell on the short videos. When doing so, ensuring your product is related to the short video is essential. Otherwise, the audience may not relate to your product. Like in affiliate marketing, you must add the link to your store in the comment section.
Brand Sponsorship
Another way in which content creators monetize their YouTube shorts is through brand sponsorship. This works in a way that allows you to create sponsored content on behalf of a brand. The good thing about this monetization method is that it can earn you a decent amount of money, probably even higher than the YouTube Partnership Program.
When searching for brands to collaborate with, find one related to your niche. Though there are no hard rules on that. You must also note that while you will not need millions of followers to get brand sponsorship deals, you still have a sizable following.
Patreon
This is a subscription-based service where fans give creators tokens to show appreciation for their content. In exchange, the fans are given exclusive content and other benefits. Many big channels with hundreds of thousands or even millions of viewers use Patreon as it helps them complement their ad earnings.

Tips for Increasing Your YouTube Shorts Earnings
Here are ways to increase your earnings on Youtube Shorts:
Keep creating videos consistently
As noted earlier, you need many fans to make a sizable income from YouTube Shorts. Even when using the alternative earning methods listed above, the higher your number of subscribers, the higher your chances of earning more. So, how do you get more views of your videos? Your best bet is to create content continuously. Remember that the more short videos you create, the more your chances of your videos going viral.
Use eye-catching titles and thumbnails
Another way you can easily capture viewers is by using high-quality thumbnails and titles. This is one of the factors that will determine if potential viewers click on your videos or not. No matter how good your video is, if you use a boring thumbnail, nobody will click on it. Ensure you use an eye-catching thumbnail that easily grabs people's attention.
The best way of mastering the art of creating thumbnails is by watching how other channels with millions of views are doing. Here are some tips on creating a good thumbnail:
- Use the right size of an image. A good idea would be to use the recommended YouTube thumbnail size of 1280 x 720 pixels. You can also go with the everyday aspect ratio of 16:9.
- Ensure that you have a fantastic image for your thumbnail image. The image is what grabs people's attention on a thumbnail. Therefore, to get noticed, you should use a high-quality photo. You can pick a still from your video and edit it using software such as Photoshop or Canva. Use facial expressions or other emotions to help capture your audience's attention.
- Use some text. Adding text to your thumbnails comes with a lot of benefits. The main one is that it provides viewers with a context concerning the text. If you only use an image alone, it will not provide the context, no matter how good. Be creative with your texts. For instance, if creating a video series, you can use numbers.
- Go minimalistic. When creating a thumbnail, you should note that less is more. Since the thumbnail acts as the video teaser, you should keep the text bare minimum.

Monitor your analytics
When creating YouTube Shorts, it's advisable to keep an eye on your analytics. Some of the metrics you should keep watch over are:
- Comments and likes
- Number of views
- The average duration of views
You should watch the views vs. swiped away metric on YouTube Shorts. This metric shows the percentage of viewers that watch your shorts compared to those that swipe away. If there is a massive number of viewers swiping away, this will send the wrong signal to YouTube. It will signal to YouTube that your short videos aren't engaging, so the platform will stop promoting them. Take time also to understand the video completion rate and how to use it.
Learn from other shorts
A great place to get inspiration for your short videos is from other short videos receiving millions of views. You need to check them out to see what they are doing right. When doing that, consider different factors such as:
- The kind of thumbnails they are using.
- Type of title they are using.
- The keywords they are using.
Apply what you learn from these videos to your shorts.
Experiment with different kinds of videos
Instead of sticking to one kind of video, you must be creative and experiment with different types. That way, you can see the kind of videos that are resonating well with viewers. Again, a great place to draw inspiration when doing that is from other short videos in your niche.
Experiment with different revenue streams
Don’t just rely on one revenue stream. Try different revenue streams such as sponsored products, affiliate marketing, and product sales. After all, we have already noted that the big channels also use Patreon to complement their ad revenue.
FAQs on YouTube Shorts Monetization
Here are some of the frequently asked questions on YouTube Shorts monetization:
Can you monetize your YouTube channel with shorts alone?
Yes, monetizing your YouTube channel with short videos is possible. However, you need millions of views to make a meaningful income from shorts. That is why combining earnings from YouTube with other methods is advisable.
Can you earn money with YouTube Short funds?
No. It is no longer possible to earn with the YouTube Shorts fund. This is because the fund was discontinued in 2023. Instead, it was replaced with the YouTube Partner Program, which we have discussed in detail above.

Final Thoughts
YouTube is arguably the best platform for video content creators to earn through ad revenue. However, with their strict rules and guidelines, getting monetized on the platform can be tricky if you don't follow their rules. A Detailed Guide on Getting 1 Million Views on YouTube And Possible Income
Published on 11.04.2024 by Tracey Chizoba Fletcher
Since its launch in 2005, YouTube has remained the most popular video-sharing platform. With users binge-watching content on the platform, many YouTubers have tried making a career out of YouTube. With over 1.7 billion unique visitors every month, YouTube has played a vital role in building stars and contributing to the financial success of many.
When starting a YouTube channel, one of the most common questions is: How much income can you make from 1 million views? Before answering that question, we will provide you with a guide to becoming a successful YouTuber.

Studies on Becoming a YouTuber
According to a study done by MediaKix, 75% of children aged between 6 and 17 have the dream of becoming YouTubers. According to another study done by the Sun Newspaper, three-quarters of millennials and GenZ have the dream of becoming YouTubers. This is a testament that becoming a YouTuber is a popular career choice for the young and the old.
Critical Skills for Becoming a Successful YouTuber
Many assume you can become an overnight sensation by becoming a YouTuber. After all, it's all about creating and posting videos on YouTube. However, with over 3.7 million videos posted on YouTube every day, the competition can get stiff. You cannot sit back and expect your channel to gain millions of views with little effort. Here are some essential skills you need to become a successful YouTuber.
Unique Idea
YouTube is all about the idea that adds value to your viewers. Again, you should remember that there are millions or even billions of videos; therefore, you need something creative and unique. If you are just uploading what other channels have, there is a chance that your channel won't get traction.
While going with YouTube 2024 trends can work, it will only get your video lost among the thousands of videos in the same niche. When you create unique content that adds value to viewers, they will likely click on your videos and be interested in them.
Content Research
If you are knowledgeable about the topic you share, this will be felt in your videos. Therefore, you need good research skills if you will be seen as a professional in your niche. The more versed you are with content, the more viewers will engage with your channel. This will, in turn, help with the speedy growth of your channel.
Video Editing Skills
If you want to cut the cost of hiring a video editor, you must have video editing skills. A well-edited video can leave a good impression on the viewer. You can save a lot on video editing if you have some basic video editing skills. Fortunately, most of the video editing software is easy to use.

Basic Understanding of the YouTube Platform
Before you become a successful YouTuber, you also need to have a good understanding of the platform. You need to understand how the YouTube algorithm works and how to use it to rank videos. This will give you an idea of the type of videos prominent YouTubers make and how to create such videos.
Ensure that you clearly understand the type of content viewers want so that you can create something that meets their needs. Go through the YouTube guidelines to understand the content that can be monetized on the platform.
Steps to Starting a YouTube Channel
Once you understand the skills needed to start a YouTube channel, the next step is to take action. Here are the steps you need to follow when starting a YouTube channel.
Choose a Niche
The niche is usually a broad category of exactly what you want to create videos on. For instance, if you want to start a YouTube channel to make money online, you can try to narrow it down to a small category such as transcription or writing. Here are a few tips on choosing a niche:
Consider Passion and Interest
Remember that you will spend countless hours filming, editing, and promoting your video every week or day. Therefore, you should select a niche that you are passionate about. This will ensure you don't get bored after creating a few videos and can continue making content for many years.
You should choose a topic that motivates you to wake up and create videos while remaining optimistic about it. Ensure you are on YouTube for the right reasons, such as passion, community building, and financial freedom.

Narrow Down on a Sub-niche
Selecting a niche can put your videos in a broad category where the competition can get stiff. For instance, if you choose the comedy niche, you will be competing against all the big names in the comedy world. It can be hard to compete if you are a beginner without an established name.
Therefore, we advise that you select a sub-niche under the big category. For instance, you can create a sub-niche where you specialize in funny moments at the workplace. Similarly, you can focus on reviewing earbuds instead of reviewing tech audio.
When choosing a sub-niche, there are two key factors to consider. These are:
- If your niche has an interesting sub-niche.
- The competition level of that sub-niche.
Audience Interest in Your Niche
The only reason you are starting a YouTube channel is to get views. If you are creating content and still waiting to see it, your efforts are in vain. When considering a niche, you should realize that some topics get more views than others.
Therefore, instead of just creating a video, you need to investigate to determine the kind of topic your audience is interested in watching. If unsure, don't be afraid to experiment with different types of videos to determine what works best.
Do a Competition Analysis
Deciding on the category to focus on should be more than choosing your hobby or interest in your niche. You should do more than find a niche that attracts thousands of views. You also need to analyze the competition.
Sometimes, a niche may look too promising but have cutthroat competition. After all, everyone wants to join a niche with lots of viewers. Instead of trying to fight the competition, choose a niche where the competition is low to increase the chances of people viewing your videos.
While competing in a niche without much competition is also possible, focusing on a lower competition level is better. If you are a small creator, don't compete with a creator with millions of subscribers. The more unique your idea is, the better your chances of success. The best YouTube niche is one that viewers want to view but nobody is paying attention to.

Ensure There is Endless Content
You don't want to choose a niche where you create ten videos and run out of ideas. Instead, you want to select one that offers endless video creation opportunities. This is especially important when focusing on a sub-niche that narrows to one product type, such as earbuds. A good idea would be to list the first 50 topics before settling on a particular niche.
Determine Your Audience
You need to have an audience in mind for whom you will be creating videos. When considering the audience, you can seek to answer the following questions:
- Who am I targeting with my content?
- How old are they?
- What are their hobbies or interests?
- What are their careers?
- Why do they watch my videos?
- What will they be learning from my videos?
- When are they most active on YouTube?
When you get answers to these questions, you can have a buyer persona for your target audience. This is what will, in turn, help you create great content for your target audience. Here are places to help you know your target audience:
Audience Tab
Going to the YouTube Audience tab lets you know about your viewers, subscribers, and nonsubscribers. This will also show you many details concerning your audience, such as viewer demographics and the type of videos they are watching. Here are the steps to follow to get to the audience tab:
- On YouTube Studio, click on Analytics under the navigation bar.
- Click on the Audience tab. This will take you to the channel analytics.
- You will see a lot of metrics about the audience, such as the number of subscribers, unique views, video completion rate, and the number of new views.
Build a Buyer Persona
A buyer persona refers to a fictional character that gives a true representation of your most engaging fans. With a buyer persona, you get a snapshot of who your viewers are and why they take specific actions on your channel. Ideally, you should give your YouTube buyer persona a name and write their profile.
Their profile should be around 200 words and summarize the persona from where they live, their age, and their interest. This information will guide you when creating your videos. Again, the Audience tab will help you create a good buyer's persona by showing your viewers' details, such as their age, location, and gender.

Content Your Viewers Watch
When your viewers aren't on your channel, what content do they watch? Why is this important? Because viewers also interact with other creators. To understand them truly, you must also know the type of content they interact with when they aren't on your channel. This data can again be seen on the Audience tab under:
- Content your audience also watches
- Channels your audience watches
This will give you an overview of the type of content your audience watches on YouTube and who your viewers are.
Videos Resulting in Subscriptions
You need to realize that not all your viewers will end up subscribing. It will take some time, and you should prove yourself before they subscribe to your channel. One of the ways to do that is by determining the videos bringing a lot of views and focusing on them. To see these videos:
- Go to YouTube Studio and click on Analytics.
- Go to See More.
- Under the first filter box, click on Subscriber Gained
- You can see the videos that bring the most subscribers. You can then learn from them to increase your YouTube subscribers.
Determine Your Goal
You should have a goal of what you want to achieve with your YouTube channel. Is it to market your brand, promote your products, or even become famous? Whatever goal you have in mind, ensure that it's very clear and something you can pursue.
Have Content Ideas
After determining your audience, niche, and goals, it's time to brainstorm content ideas. This can be one of the hardest parts of starting a YouTube channel. Here are tips on getting content ideas for your YouTube channel:
YouTube Search
The most successful YouTube channels often handle a pain point or solve a problem. Therefore, you should focus on this when opening a YouTube channel. Consider how your videos will benefit from your channel.
One of the best places to find the problems people are facing and searching for solutions is YouTube Search. After getting a content idea, quickly search for what people are searching for.
Go through the search results to see if the area is saturated with answers or if there is room to create quick content. You can also play with the auto-suggest feature by typing different keyword versions to see YouTube's results.
Comments Section
The comments section lets you know the type of videos viewers want to see. Often, viewers can suggest topics they want covered or ask questions that must be answered. Remember also to check the feedback your competitors get in their comments section.
Communities and Groups
Don't just sit back and think of content to create. By joining communities in your niche, you can better understand the topic. You can get new content ideas for your videos. Facebook groups can also give you an idea of the kind of content people are searching for.
Surveys and Polls
You can also get content ideas by conducting surveys and polls. You can do a poll on your Facebook page and ask people to leave a comment or in webinars. If you conduct a webinar, you can even do a live poll.
Create a Content Strategy
Coming up with content ideas will not be enough. You need a solid content strategy to determine how often you publish your content. A good idea would be to create a content plan for the whole month. This will help you stay organized. It will also help you to have a plan on how to build your channel.

You can also use different tools to create a content strategy. These include:
- Google Sheets
- Microsoft Excel
- Trello
- Asana
- Google Calendar
When it comes to creating a content calendar, there are a wide range of tools you can use, such as:
- HootSuite
- Loomly
- SproutSocial
- AgoraPulse
- Sendible
Optimize for Search Engines
YouTube is itself a search engine. That means there are lots of people who go to YouTube to search and learn something. You want to ensure that your videos are well-optimized for search engines. That means when people search for videos on your niche, YouTube and even Google will record your videos.
YouTube SEO begins with keyword research. That means searching for words that people in your niche use to search for videos. There are tools you can use to help you with keyword research, such as VideoIQ and TubeBuddy. These tools will show you different metrics, such as a keyword's search volume and competition level. You will want to target keywords with a high search volume and low competition.

Once you find the right keywords, you should use them in the right places, such as:
- Video title
- Description
- Tag
By doing that, you will have great YouTube SEO results.
Start Promoting Your Channel
After your video is running, it's time to start promoting. You don't have to be shy about it. Here are some tips on promoting your YouTube channel:
- Cross promote on social media. Ensure you promote the videos on social media sites where your audience is. To draw the audience to YouTube, share a short video teaser with an eye-catching thumbnail. Share the link to the YouTube video on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and Twitter. This will give you a diverse audience to help you reach 1 million views.
- Watch time and end screens. When determining the engagement rate of a YouTube channel, the watch time is a great metric to consider. Luckily, YouTube also provides features like end screens and cards that will help you promote your videos and grow your audience. This helps you to maintain viewers' interest and retain them in your videos.
- Collaborate with other YouTubers. Another tactic big YouTubers use to reach 1 million views easily is collaborating with other YouTubers. This will help expose your videos to a new audience, helping your channel grow.
- Use timestamps for easy navigation. Timestamps can help add markers for certain sections of your videos. They also help improve viewers' experience as they can jump from one section to the other.
- Use eye-catching thumbnails. The thumbnail gives the user the first impression and determines whether they will click on your video. This important element previews the video and helps readers understand what they will see.

Tips for Success With a YouTube Channel
As noted earlier, growing a YouTube channel isn't easy. Fortunately, we have tips to help take your channel to the next level. These are:
Be Consistent
Don't expect results in the first two months of starting a channel. It takes a lot of time and effort to grow a channel. Before getting traction from YouTube, you need at least 20 videos. If you are in a competitive niche, you may need more before YouTube can suggest your videos to viewers. Therefore, you must be consistent and keep posting videos even if the viewers aren't coming as fast as you expected.
Constant Research
You may have a lot of knowledge in your niche. However, in this technological age, things can change fast. Therefore, you must keep yourself updated with the latest YouTube trends and news in your niche. You also want to ensure you are updated on the latest YouTube trends. This will help you stay ahead of your competition.
Create Badass Videos
You can try a lot of things. But if you make poor-quality videos, marketing them will be hard. This is why you should create good-quality videos that people will find irresistible. Ensure you have the right quality equipment to help you create great videos. If you create gaming content, ensure you have the right gaming equipment for YouTube streaming.
How Much Will You Earn for a Million YouTube Views?
Now that you have taken the right steps to get 1 million views, how much will you earn? There is no definite answer, as this depends on various factors such as the niche, region, and the number of people who see your ads. However, according to data from YouTube creators, the earnings can range from $1,700 to $30,000 for every video with 1 million views.
If your viewers are in the United States and don't use ad blockers, you can earn far more than someone else in Africa. This is understandable, considering that YouTube's advertising revenue in Africa is considerably lower than in the United States.
Final Thoughts
Getting 1 million views on YouTube isn't an easy task. However, it's possible with dedication, handwork, and planning. By following our guide, you can easily reach 1 million views and make a decent income on YouTube.

A Beginner Guide to Setting Up a Facebook Shop With Examples
Published on 09.04.2024 by Tracey Chizoba Fletcher
Since Facebook introduced the shop feature in 2020, it has proven to be among the most popular. Small and big businesses have used it to promote and sell their products and services. With stiff competition in the Facebook ad category, businesses are realizing the benefits of social commerce. This article will guide you in creating a successful social commerce store and show examples you can replicate.

What is a Facebook Shop?
A Facebook shop is an e-commerce platform that allows users to sell their products and services on Facebook and Instagram. The platform makes setting up a shop on the social platform easy without coding knowledge. Sellers can then promote their products through stories to get customers. You only need your bank account and a tax identification number to create one.
Features of a Facebook Shop
You need to understand how a Facebook shop works to get the most out of it. As an end-to-end solution, a Facebook shop incorporates everything you need to market, sell, and provide customer support. Here are the key features:
Integration with E-Commerce Stores
Facebook allows you to add a store created on another platform, as it supports integration with Shopify, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, and more.
Mobile Friendly
Facebook refers to the shop as a mobile-first feature. This means that it leans more towards mobile shopping. Besides, the shop is optimized for mobile devices and can fit every device size and resolution.
Product Catalog
You can create a collection of products or sort them in a way that makes browsing the shop convenient. Besides, you can adjust different elements of the store, such as color, templates, design, and more.
Built-in Analytics
Another key feature of the shop is the built-in analytics. The Commerce Manager feature will provide insights into your store's performance. However, it will show different metrics depending on the kind of stores you create.
For instance, if you create your shop on Facebook, you can see insights on customers, visitors, and more. However, if you have integrated a store created on another platform, such as Shopify, the Commerce Manager will show you the number of clicks to your store.

Contact Information
Facebook shop lets customers contact you through various methods such as Messenger, a WhatsApp number, or Instagram Direct. They can ask questions, track deliveries, and get support for their orders. Besides, they can also make their purchases through these apps.
Since the Facebook Store is relatively new, most of its products are still in development. However, it still has some great features that your store can use.
Why You Should Have a Facebook Shop
Statistics indicate that there are over 80 million businesses with Facebook pages. Since most businesses already have a social presence, nurturing their leads to become customers makes sense. The Facebook shop provides an excellent opportunity to do that. That said, here are some benefits of Facebook Shop you should know about:
Access to a Big Audience
With over a third of the world population on Facebook, the social media site offers an excellent opportunity to reach your customers. Besides, a study by Oberlo shows that most Facebook users are between 25 and 34. These are often working-class people with higher buying power.
Another study by the Pew Research Institute showed that 74% of Facebook users in the United States earned above $75,000. Even better is that most of these users seek products on Facebook, as studies indicate that 15% of social media users in the U.S. browse through products.
Better Customer Relations
As noted earlier, Facebook shops allow you to connect with your customers at different stages of the buying journey. That means you can promote your products to customers on your Facebook page and sell them on your Facebook shop. If customers have questions about the product, you can offer after-sale services on your shop or Facebook page.
Customers can contact you through WhatsApp or Messenger, providing them with good customer service. Besides, you can set up customer service and a chatbox to respond to customers' queries all the time. We recommend you learn how to use Facebook Messenger for business.

Low Advertising Cost
Compared to other marketing methods, Facebook is usually the cheapest advertising method. Besides, the targeted Facebook advertising capability can create better results. Facebook also allows users to share product links on Messenger and WhatsApp. With the ability to share your products with other social media users, a good Facebook advertising strategy can take your brand to the next level.
A Good Alternative to a Website
This may sound surprising. Not every business requires a website. A Facebook shop can be a good alternative to a site, as they offer customers the same shopping experience. If you are a startup, you can save a lot of money on website development, hosting, content creation, and other expenses associated with website hosting.
Mobile Friendly
We mentioned earlier that the Facebook store uses a mobile-first approach, providing users with a mobile-friendly shopping experience. With over half of the internet traffic coming from mobile devices and 96% of Facebook users accessing the platform through mobile devices, a mobile-friendly shop offers unmatched benefits to your brand.
Affordable to Maintain
If you create a shop on Commerce Manager, you must pay a monthly maintenance fee. The amount will be automatically deducted from your sales. The fees depend on the size of the sale. If you sell over $8, a 5% fee will be deducted for each order. A fee of $0.4 applies for orders below $8.
This fee covers the cost of maintaining the shop and processing the payment. These are affordable, considering you have a ready audience to view your product. For instance, when you have a Shopify store, you are charged 3% plus 30 cents per sale in the basic plan.

However, you need to advertise your Shopify shop through other media, as the chances of organic traffic coming to your store are low. That's unlike Facebook, where the platform will recommend your products to social media users searching for products in your niche. When you set a good Facebook ad strategy, you can take your shop to the next level.
Drawbacks of a Facebook Shop
Like anything else, a Facebook shop also has its drawbacks. These include:
- Works only on Facebook. While there are billions of Facebook users, billions also don't use it. That means it can be hard to reach the audience that isn't on the social media site with the Facebook Shop.
- Lacks some sales features. You can imagine a situation where you want customers to check out with a promo code or a referral program. Such features aren't available on a Facebook Shop, so you may need to find another alternative.
- A small fee is charged. As we have noted earlier, maintaining a Facebook shop isn't free.
- Show negative comments. If customers bought a product and weren't happy, they might leave a negative comment. Other customers will see this comment, whether genuine or not, and it might impact your sales.
Requirements for Running a Facebook Shop
Before you can set up a Facebook shop, you need to meet the following requirements. These are:
- A Facebook profile linked to a Facebook business page.
- A Facebook page with at least 2,000 followers.
- Have a physical product to sell. No digital product.
- Tax identification number for your business.
- License to operate in the market you are selling.
- Valid bank account in your name.
- Complying with Facebook policies such as community standards, commercial terms, and terms of service.
- Confirmation of domain ownership.
- Be in a market that is supported.
- Have a trustworthy and authentic presence. This also includes a considerable number of followers.
- Provide accurate information with a clear return and refund policy.

Facebook Shop vs. Facebook Page Shop: Are they the same?
While these two terms sound similar, they aren't the same. A Facebook Shop is a form of a storefront for an existing Facebook page. This provides a more streamlined buying experience, enabling customers to purchase products without leaving a business page.
On the other hand, a Facebook page shop enables you to sell products directly from your business page. When customers click on a product on your business page, they can check it out directly on your site. You can read our guide on how to delete your Facebook page.
How to Create a Facebook Shop
Here are the steps to follow when creating a Facebook store:
Be a Business Manager Admin
Before creating a Facebook Shop, you must be a business manager admin. A business portfolio will allow you to add your Facebook Page, Account Portfolio, Ad accounts, and other business assets together to manage them from one place with the Business Manager or Meta Business Suite.
You should also have a Facebook page and catalog on your business manager account. You should ensure that you have permission to manage the pages. When these details are ready, you can move to the next stage of setting up a Facebook store.
Set Up Your Store
If you are setting up a new Facebook store, you can do that by tapping on Set Up on Store Manager. You should enter your business details, such as the store name and contact information. A good idea would be to give your store a name that people can quickly identify with.
Connect Store to Page
The next step requires connecting your store to your new commerce account. Choose one that matches your new shop if you already have several pages. You should link your Business Manager Account and tap on Finish Set Up. Remember that once you link the shop to an account, you can not change that.
Setting Configuration
After completing the above steps, Facebook will take you back to the beginning so you can begin configuring your settings. One of the first features you need to add is the catalog. If you already have one, add it. Alternatively, you can create a new one. Remember that you are only allowed to add one catalog. However, you can always change the products.

Adding Shipping Details
You will now need to include the shipping options. You can add the cost and duration to ship the standard, rush, or expedited. Facebook requires that you ship a product within three days of the customer ordering.
After filling out these details, you can add the return policy. Add the number of days that your customers have to return the product. You also have an option to include the customer service email. Remember that these details are mandatory, and you cannot continue setting up your account until you add them.
Add Payout Details
Go to payout on the initial screen and choose Get Started. You can then add the bank details where you want your payment sent. You can choose the category under which you want to sell. For instance, if you are selling running shoes, you can choose your category as clothing or apparel.
If you are in the United States, you should choose the state where you do business on the next page. Add your tax registration number if you already have a physical store in the United States. Under the tax and representation page, you can add the personal details of your business representative. Now, your Facebook page is already set up.
How to Create a Facebook Shop Using an E-commerce Site
If you use an E-commerce platform, it will automatically create a business page for you. Therefore, managing your orders and products from your e-commerce site will be easy when you seamlessly link them to Facebook. Here are the steps to follow when doing that:
- Link your Facebook account and install apps on your e-commerce site, such as Shopify or WooCommerce.
- Use your Business Manager Account to log in.
- Use Commerce Management and a Facebook page.
- Upload your products in bulk. Alternatively, create Facebook profiles to promote your products
- Wait for Facebook to approve the store.

Choosing the Right Product to Sell In a Facebook Shop
The product you sell on a Facebook shop can potentially increase your store's success. Here are tips for choosing the right products to sell:
- Select fast-selling items. You must ensure that you select products with the highest potential to sell. You can find the most popular items by researching and reviewing your sales data.
- Easy to ship. Ensure that you are selling visually appealing products that are easy to ship.
- Profit margin. Consider also the profit margin of the product that you plan to sell. While you may be tempted to sell low-priced items to get more customers, ensure you get a good profit margin. When calculating your profit margin, consider the cost of products, shipping fees, and the fees for selling on Facebook.
- Limited edition products. To entice Facebook customers, you can sell products at discounts or in limited editions.
- Target audience. What customer demographics are you targeting, and what products are they likely to buy?
Tips for Creating a Successful Facebook Shop
Now that you understand the process of creating a Facebook page, you may wonder how to make it successful. Here are a few tips:
A Well-organized Product Catalog
If you enter a brick-and-mortar store and find that everything is disorganized, with the jeans, women's, and children's clothes all mixed up, you'll likely leave without buying. The same policy applies in the online world, especially Facebook Shop. No customer will buy from you if you don’t make it easy for them to find what they need.
A product catalog can help you solve this challenge. Ensure that all products have been sorted in catalogs to make it easier for customers to find what they are searching for. Every collection in your catalog should have a description of what customers should expect inside.
Make Good Use of Product Tags
One way of convincing customers to get closer to the buying decision is by demonstrating the product in use. This is one area where product tags can prove helpful. They help customers identify the products and their prices quickly. Therefore, you can post the product in use or its natural environment and drive customers to the shop using product tags.
For instance, instead of posting a picture of a lady's denim, how about posting a well-shaped model wearing it? If it looks good on them, prospective customers will likely be convinced that it will also benefit them.
A Well-streamlined Buying Journey
With the evolving online shopping, customers are searching for convenience. They don't want to keep switching between different platforms or going through a slow checkout process. If you don’t want to reduce your conversion, you should put a well streamlined shopping experience in place.
Luckily, Facebook shops take care of the different stages of a customer's buying journey. The platform, including features like Checkout, Facebook Pay, and Store Integration, ensures that customers remain on the platform.

Best Practices When Using Facebook Shops
Here are a few techniques to help you increase your sales in a Facebook shop:
- Use eye-catching images. Ensure that the product images you're using are eye-catching with a concise description.
- Display your best items. Showcase items that are pretty popular with your target customers.
- Choose a name carefully. Your choice of name should reflect your business and its image.
- Use Facebook features well. Instead of waiting for customers to visit your shop, share your products on other Facebook platforms.
- Engage with customers. Respond to queries fast and encourage customers to leave positive reviews of your products. If you are unresponsive, you will lose a lot of prospective sales. On the other hand, positive reviews will help build trust and credibility for your Facebook shop.
- Track your inventories. You don't want a customer to order an item only for them to realize that it's out of stock. Therefore, regularly update your inventory and add new products. This will ensure that returning customers always find the store fresh.
- Keep reading the comments. When a customer leaves a bad review, find out the reason and ask them what you can do to improve the service. Even when the comments were uncalled for, keep your answers polite. Avoid getting into online fights.
- Use advertising features. Use the Facebook advertising feature to drive traffic to your online shop. Ensure that you also optimize your Facebook advertising.

Vans
If you want to see a Facebook shop with a good layout, Van is one of the best examples. The Shoe brand features a well-organized store with a catalog of different products sorted by color. They also have a fresh product catalog that makes it easy for returning customers to find new products.

Facebook Ad Ideas How to Create an Outstanding Ad
Published on 08.04.2024 by Tracey Chizoba Fletcher
Facebook is one of the best sites for promoting your business. With its large audience of over 3 billion monthly users, Facebook offers a large audience to showcase your brand. However, you may not see a significant effect if you are trying to do that organically. This is why you should consider Facebook ads for the best results.
Whether you are a content creator, a brand, or a social media manager, the best way to reach your target audience is through Facebook ads. This article will guide you on creating different types of Facebook ads that will easily convert.

Benefits of Using Facebook Ads
If you are still not convinced that Facebook ads are the way to go, here are some reasons to consider.
Great Targeting Options
Facebook Insights provides you with a lot of data you can use to take your marketing to the next level. When creating your ad, you can set your ad to reach different demographics according to age, gender, and location.
You can also target users according to behaviors, interests, political affiliations, income, and significant life events. Therefore, you can easily define your Facebook audience according to the above categories.
Different Ad Options
Facebook offers you the opportunity to target different types of ads, such as:
- Photos. Static single images with a caption.
- Videos. Ads of varying lengths can be set to appear in different ways, such as in In-stream, in stories, and in user feeds.
- Messenger. Ads appearing in between stories in the messenger app.
- Stories. Customizable full-screen ads, either in full images or videos.
- Carousel. Ads made of up to 10 static images.
- SlideShow. These consist of short videos made of sound, motion, and text.
- Playables. Interactive demo games are available for users to preview before downloading an app or a game.
- Collections. Ads showcasing multiple products in one ad.
Therefore, when advertising on Facebook, you are not limited to one type of ad or only locked to pieces of text.

Affordable Advertising Option
Facebook advertising is one of the most affordable options out there. They also allow you to set your budget and access the ad manager feature at no extra cost. While the cost will depend on various factors, you can expect to pay anything from a few cents to a couple of dollars per click.
Fast Results
A good Facebook advertising strategy provides excellent results for brands searching for short-term and long-term advertising strategies. Once your ad has gone live, you can expect to see conversion immediately.
Choose Your Marketing Objective
Facebook also allows you to choose from a wide range of marketing objectives according to your marketing goals. These options are usually great for businesses that have a specific marketing objective they want to focus on. Some of the objectives businesses often choose include:
- Improve engagement on their valuable content.
- Promote their Facebook pages so that customers can engage more with them.
- Create website ads to gain website referral traffic.
- Call to action.
Besides, businesses can focus on a more significant business goal, such as increasing sales, generating leads, and expanding their visibility.
A Wide Audience Reach
Meta, Facebook's mother company, also owns Instagram, allowing advertisers to simultaneously put their ads on both platforms, even if you aren't active on Instagram. This provides advertisers with an opportunity to reach a large and diverse audience.

Ability to Track Ad Performance
Facebook allows advertisers to track the performance of their ads in real-time This is possible because of the wide range of metrics provided by Facebook ads, such as conversion, engagement, and reach. The data is usually updated in real-time, allowing Facebook users to make real-time decisions. When you understand metrics such as video completion rate, you can easily improve your ad performance,
How to Create an Outstanding Facebook Ad
Here are some tips on creating outstanding Facebook ads.
Use a Clear Headline
Using a lengthy sales pitch will bore your audience, and your sales copy will not serve the purpose well. You should use a short, clear, and concise headline. When creating a Facebook ad, you will add the headline to the text field of your ad builder rather than the headline field.
Use a Creative Tension Image
Novice advertisers don't understand how to use creative tension images in their Facebook ads. For instance, if the copy has the headline "make money in your sleep," they use a stock image of a man in pajamas holding a wad of cash.
The general rule of thumb is to make the image playful if you use serious writing for your copy. And if the image is severe, you should make the words playful. This helps to create a good contrast.

Let Your Landing Page Rhyme With Your Ads
When you create an ad, you promise your audience that when they click it, they will get something. This is why you must ensure your Facebook ad and landing page are in sync. You can use similar design elements like colors, fonts, and image arrangements.
Ensure that the content you promised on the ad is also on the landing page. Doing that will make it easy for the viewer to transition from the ad to your landing page. Remember that having your readers click on your ad is already hard enough. You should, therefore, not disappoint yourself by having them click away when they get to your landing page.
Use the Correct Size and Aspect Ratio of an Image
Another essential thing to do is to ensure that your ad is of the correct size and aspect ratio. If you use poorly formatted video and image sizes, the image can be grainy, distorted, and hard to see. You can add all the information you want to see and avoid using the correct image size.
Ensure that you are also using the right custom-made image. Remember that your image represents your brand on Facebook. Therefore, use a high-quality image showcasing your products or services. Avoid using too much text and instead allow the focus to be on the image. You can use Canva to create great images or Unsplash for high-quality and royalty-free images.
Use Color Psychology
Your choice of color will impact how people receive your ad, just like the text and the image. Studies indicate that most people judge an image depending on the type of color. Color can, therefore, create contrast in the reader's eyes. It also helps to define your brand's identity, in the same way people associate Coca-Cola with the red color.

Psychologists also suggest that specific colors have certain psychological effects. Older people prefer dull colors like blue and gray, while younger people prefer bright colors like red and blue. Therefore, when choosing a color for your Facebook ad, consider the demography you want to reach.
When using different colors, keep it simple. At most, you should go with one or two colors. Using more colors than that can overwhelm your customers. One of the most important elements of a Facebook ad is to be thoughtful and deliberate when using colors.
Target a Particular Location
When creating a Facebook ad, you don’t have to make your ad appeal to everyone. Instead, it can focus on a particular demographic or region. You can implement this in your design by using copy and images that speak to a specific demographic. When doing that, show that you understand the language of that demographic.

Optimize Your Ad for Mobile
According to statistics, most Facebook users access the site on their mobile phones. A common mistake brands make when creating Facebook ads is recycling their desktop ads for mobile. With so many people using Facebook for mobile, you should not ignore every tiny detail when creating your ad.
Therefore, to get the most out of your Facebook ad, you should ensure it is well-optimized for mobile devices. The most obvious way of creating mobile-first ads is by using vertical formats that optimize the image for mobile devices.
When optimizing for mobile, use ad types that can't be used on desktops, such as the 360 vertical ads. This means that viewers can see the different angles of the image by simply moving their phones.
Experiment With Split Testing
No matter how hard you try and the effort it will take to create your ad, you will find it hard to determine how your target audience will receive it. Your best bet is to split-test your ad to see the version that will work best for your Facebook advertising.
For instance, you can create and publish two different versions of an ad copy to see the one that will outperform the other. This can guide you on your future ad creations and let you determine which ad copy you should stick with.
You can visit the Facebook Ad Manager to access the campaign you need to try. You can then tap on the A/B testing button. You can select the variables you want to test for, such as audience, placement, and creatives. Choose whether you want to test two duplicate campaigns or two separate campaigns.
Fill in a few details, such as the name of the test and the schedule. You can then specify how Facebook will determine which ad will perform better.

Include Humans
One fact about humans is that they attract other humans. If you want to catch your audience's attention, you must avoid using a lot of old and boring texts and product images such as officer supplies. Not only are such kinds of images not attractive, but they are also not engaging.
If you want to make real connections with your audience, include images of real human beings. If possible, ensure that you are using happy people.
Use a Clear Call to Action
The right Facebook ad is usually clear about the action it wants the target audience to take. In this regard, we can categorize the ad action into two categories:
- Driving engagement, such as liking a Facebook page.
- Choose a direct action such as an app install, sales, or a lead.
It would be better if your ad could achieve both, but this doesn't always work. Therefore, a good idea is to include a CTA in your ad that follows this funnel.
- Awareness. This aims to make your audience more aware of your brand. It involves simple actions such as boosting the number of your followers and email subscriptions.
- Conversation. This stage aims to increase engagement, such as increasing comments, shares, and mentions.
- Intent. You can now focus on making your audience take action, such as wanting to learn more or even downloading.
- Conversion. At this stage, you want them to take an action that contributes to your business growth. This can be in the form of adding a product to a cart, downloading an app, signing up for a subscription, requesting a sales demo, and more.
Keep Your Ad Simple
Sensory overload should be a big no when creating a Facebook ad strategy. You don’t want a situation where you have so many things going on in the image. Doing that will not only put off the viewer but can also make the message get lost easily. Keep the ad simple so your target audience can quickly grasp the message.
Keep Your Ads Humorous
The only reason why people come to Facebook is to be entertained, and there is no doubt that humor sells. You can easily catch their attention and draw them to your ad by tapping this content. This explains why brands often collaborate with comedians.

Final Thoughts
Facebook ads may look simple at first. After all, it's all about creating and publishing a copy or video on Facebook. However, this is not always the case, as Facebook can be a challenging platform for advertisers. Not only will you be competing against other brands for audience attention, but you will also be competing with their families and friends.
After all, nobody will want to engage with your brand when they can see their childhood friend's wedding photos. If you want your ad to catch the attention of your target audience, you need to create a catchy ad. Not only should the ad be captivating enough to be shared, but it should have the correct dimensions and elements. By using our guide, you should be able to create a catchy ad that will easily convert. We recommend you also read our guide on using Facebook Messenger for business.

Sample Facebook Ad How to Create a Converting Facebook Ad
Published on 07.04.2024 by Tracey Chizoba Fletcher
If you are running Facebook ads, one of the most important skills you need to have is creating converting ads. If you are only running ads with no conversion, it means you are throwing money down the drain.
With a conversion rate of 9%, Facebook has a better conversion rate than Google, whose conversion rate is 4%. However, there is still room for improvement. This article will guide you in creating and converting Facebook ads. We will also show you samples from which you can learn.

Understanding Facebook Conversion Ads
A Facebook ad can have different goals, such as taking visitors to your site, increasing video views, and other actions to help grow your business. In simple terms, they encourage viewers to take action.
Some of the goals of Facebook conversion ads are:
- Increase sales. The ad may aim to encourage people to take a buying action on your website.
- Drive traffic. The ad may encourage people to visit your landing page.
- Prompt action. It may encourage its viewers to act, such as adding an item to a cart.
Facebook Ad Delivery Options
There are two ad delivery options on Facebook. These are:
- Standard. Distribute your ad spending evenly throughout your campaign. For instance, if you set your ad spend at $140 in a 7-day campaign, Facebook will try to spend $20 daily. This is the default Facebook delivery method.
- Accelerated. This ad strategy tries to get the best results within the shortest time possible. It is a good strategy for brands to get their ads in front of people as soon as possible.
How Facebook Bidding Works
Facebook bidding works the same way as an auction, meaning that advertisers bid to have their ads appear in various places on Facebook. The maximum bid usually gets the most ad placement, even though other factors affect the ad delivery.
There are several conditions to consider when making an ad bid. These are:
- Bid value. If you want to win the bid, you must bid considerably. However, you will not always pay what you bid for, as Facebook has its set of rules.
- Relevance score. Ad relevance is also another factor that Facebook considers. A high score will make people spend more time on Facebook. Your ad quality will determine how much interest people show in your ad. Facebook uses positive interaction factors such as clicks, likes, and comments to determine how many people are interested in your ad.
- Projected action rate. When Facebook thinks your ad will get more clicks than other ads, it will prioritize it.
How to Set Up a Facebook Conversion Ad
When creating Facebook ads, setting up the goal of the ad isn't enough. You also need to set the optimization events. Optimization events refer to what you want Facebook to optimize. For instance, you should set clicks as the optimization events if you need more clicks. When you do that, Facebook will show your ad to people it feels will bring the lowest cost per click.

Facebook recommends that you should have at least 50 optimization events from your conversion window every week. Optimization events should be attributable to your ad and within your window. If the clicks don't result from someone viewing your ad, they don't count toward the 50.
Choosing a Conversion Strategy
One of the factors to consider when considering whether to go with Facebook ads will be the amount of activity your site receives. You can use the Meta pixel to measure this. With this option, all you need to do is insert a piece of code on the backend of your site to track key performance metrics.
The pixel conversion results will show you the kind of activity your site gets. Consider this metric to determine whether Facebook conversion numbers work for your site. Remember that pixel event numbers measure all website activities and not just what Facebook ads drive. Here are a few pixel event benchmarks
- If you get less than 500 monthly pixel events, you should focus on building more online data and a bigger customer base.
- 500 and 10,000 monthly pixel events, you can try intent-based targeting and conversion optimization.
- Over 10,000-pixel events. Use conversion optimization in your marketing strategy.
Facebook recommends the following conversion options when creating an ad and optimizing it through pixels:
- Landing page views. This conversion option provides better insights than link clicks, as it only tracks after your site has loaded. Its main downside is that it will still count as a click when someone clicks a page and closes it before it has loaded, impacting the quality of the insights.
- Page views. There are high chances of getting page views and, therefore, will have a high conversion level.
- Purchases. If you aim to make sales, you may be tempted to jump in and start optimizing for purchases. However, getting purchase conversion can be challenging, especially when you are getting started.
- Automatic placement. You can set your ad to allow Facebook to find the best conversion opportunity among its many apps. It can be a good way of reducing your budget and enhancing your reach.
Setting the Target Audience of a Facebook ad
You can use the Facebook ad manager to set the following ad targeting methods.
- Custom audiences. If you have a particular audience in mind, Facebook allows you to upload a data file with a list of your existing customers. Once you do that, Facebook will show your ad to these customers. Alternatively, you can create a custom website audience for your website visitors.
- Demographic targeting. This option allows you to target your ad to an audience based on different factors such as age, sex, location, or social media behaviors.
- Detailed targeting. If you need to target a Facebook user base depending on more than just their demographic information, detailed targeting enables you to do that.
- Cross-border targeting. Cross-country targeting will serve the purpose if you want your ad to reach a demographic outside your border or geographical location.
Creating a Bid Strategy
The conversion results often align with a business goal, and it's therefore essential to measure if it brings in the desired results. A good way of doing that is by setting a bid cap. This will also allow Facebook to refine your ad to target the most important people. Here are some of the bidding strategies allowed by Facebook:
Lowest cost
This bidding strategy aims to get your ad in many ad placements at the lowest cost possible. However, this method has a drawback in that you do not have control over the actual cost of your bid.

Lowest cost with a bid cap
This works like the lowest cost strategy but sets a cap or amount that Facebook should not exceed. It is an excellent strategy to prevent paying more than your bid. However, you need to avoid setting your bid too low, or Facebook might have challenges spending your bid. Note that bids differ from the results, so you might pay less than what you bid for.
A target cost
This gives the Facebook system a target cost and informs it to bid for the results. In other words, you are telling the system that this is what I can afford to pay. When using this strategy, Facebook can increase or reduce your bid amount but will try to keep your cost around the bid cost.
This is a good strategy for getting a lot of conversions. Since it limits your average cost per conversion, it is also a good strategy for scaling your Facebook campaigns. Therefore, you can increase your campaign budget without the risk of overspending.
Some of the areas where you can effectively use the target cost are:
- Conversions
- App installations
- Catalog Sales
- Lead Generation
During the Facebook learning curve, you might see fluctuations in the ad cost before Facebook understands your campaigns. As noted earlier, Facebook will require 50 weekly events to understand your ad.
Measuring the Result of Your Facebook Campaigns
Here are the steps to follow when measuring the results of a Facebook campaign.
Determine Your KPIs
Before you start measuring the success of your Facebook ads, you need to determine your key performance indicators. Ensure that your KPIs align with your business goals if you will be able to measure the success. Some key metrics to track in Facebook advertising are reach, clicks, conversion rate, cost per click, and the return on ad spend.
Track Your Metrics
After defining your KPIs, you can now use Facebook Ad Manager to see data on your ad campaigns. Again, Facebook pixel can be a good option for measuring people's actions after clicking on your ad. You can then use the data to optimize your Facebook ads.

Analyze Results
After tracking different metrics, you should analyze the results to determine the performance of your ad. Some of the metrics to consider are:
- Click-through rate. This tracks the number of people who clicked on your ad after seeing it on Facebook. If your ad has a high CTR, it indicates it is relevant and engaging to your audience.
- Conversion rate. This metric tracks the number of people who took action after coming across your ad on Facebook.
- Cost per click. This metric measures the average cost of every click on your ad. When the CPC is low, It shows you have an effective ad that is reaching the right audience.
- Cost per acquisition. This Facebook ad metric measures the cost of acquiring a customer based on their action after clicking on an ad. In other words, this is the amount you pay to acquire a customer. To get your CPA, you should divide the cost of your ad by your total conversions.
- Cost per lead. This metric will show the cost of acquiring potential customers showing interest in your product after coming across it on Facebook. CPL is the total cost of an ad campaign and is measured depending on the number of leads it generates.
- Cost per mile. This metric measures the cost of an ad per 1000 impressions. This metric helps to determine how effective a Facebook ad campaign is. For instance, you can use the CPM to measure the effectiveness of different ad formats and optimize the ad campaigns for better results.

Factors Affecting the Cost of Facebook Advertising
When considering how much you will pay for your Facebook ad, Facebook considers several factors, such as:
- Audience. Your target audience will affect the amount you pay for your Facebook ad. If you want your ad to target a particular age group, sex, or gender, you can expect an increase in your advertising cost. This is on top of the number of advertisers targeting the same audience.
- Ad budget. One of the things you need to select when creating a Facebook campaign is an ad budget. While a big advertising budget will take your campaign to the next level, you can also make a small ad budget work for you. But it's important to remember that a small budget will have fewer conversions due to budget constraints.
- Ad quality/relevance. When you create an Ad, Facebook will assign a score ranging from 1 to 10 depending on its relevance level and engagement.
- Ad objective. A good Facebook ad can have different objectives, such as awareness, consideration, and conversion. Once you have decided on the primary purpose, you need to pick a specific goal. The ad cost will be higher if you have a more valuable ad goal.
- Ad placement. When placing an ad on Facebook, you can appear on different platforms such as Facebook Newsfeed, Instagram, Instagram stories, Facebook Messenger, and Audience Network. You will pay a unique cost per click depending on which platform you choose your ad to appear on.
Sample Facebook Ads You Can Copy
The good thing about Facebook ads is the amount of freedom they offer. No matter the message and product, you can always craft a message that meets your individual needs and follows the latest Facebook ad trends. The good thing is that you must not be a genius to create a great Facebook ad. Instead, you can get inspiration from some outstanding Facebook ads to create an equally great ad. Here are a few great Facebook ads from which you can get inspiration:
Project Repeat
One of the reasons why this ad clicks the right boxes is because it breaks the notion that you need a large budget for your Facebook ad spend.
The ad will make use of a customer as a display board, which is smart considering how good the conversion is for content that is user-generated. This proves that ads which are less polished can make your ad clickable as more customers are getting tired of the messages from traditional marketing. You can learn from this ad that content which is user-generated can really click with customers.

Grin
Creating an ad on ROI isn't one of the most interesting topics many would want to do. However, Grin took this challenge head-on and created a lighthearted ad on Influencer ROI. The ad features text that is brilliant with contrasting colors that easily grab your attention. The pain points are a bright yellow color.

This ad ticks for a number of reasons. These are:
- Determines the pain points. Grin realizes that its audience is more interested in measuring the success of influencer marketing than determining whether it actually works.
- Have fun with it. Grin uses fun words and emojis to make their ads more interesting.
- Use interesting words. Grin uses charming words to make their offer more interesting.
Nom Nom
Nom Nom creates an ad that totally ignores the traditional rules of limiting the number of characters. On the flip side, they realize that there are viewers who may not have the time to read all the text and, therefore, add the traditional TDLR text to the ad below.

Some of the lessons we can learn from this include:
- Use testimonials with a short ad copy to create something convincing.
- Include some key details in your text but always ensure that the creative part of the ad grabs the reader's attention.
Final Thoughts
Facebook ads have become a big alternative to the traditional advertising method. However, you should use the right ad for your Facebook campaign for the best results. By using our guide and learning from the best ads, it should be easy to create a Facebook ad that will excite viewers. We advise that you also read our comprehensive guide on social media marketing.

Buying Followers and Likes is Essential
Unless you’re Kylie Jenner, you definitely need some help with social media. The more followers you have on Instagram, TikTok, Twitter (X), or YouTube, the more people will automatically notice you. Having all those eyes on your content isn’t just impressive, it’s genuinely fun. The bad news is that everyone wants to be famous these days, but only a few can succeed. The good news is that you can be the chosen one who will get social media fame and everything that comes with it. But, for that, you need a little help from your friends at SocialWick.
With our help, you will increase the number of followers on social media, which can have a domino effect and bring you even more new followers. Once people see that you got a big followership, they will decide to give you a follow. "If a profile has so many followers, it means that it’s interesting" – you can be sure this is going to be their reasoning. Furthermore, more followers mean more visibility for everything you post. Finally, a large number of followers also do great for your credibility. Our social media services will help you to create a better overall picture of your profile.
Let’s be honest; a profile with 30,000 followers looks much better than one with 74 followers. And that’s exactly what new visitors will pay attention to. A weak social media profile can be a real deal-breaker. At the same time, a fantastic social media profile can do wonders for you. And SocialWick can make your social media profile amazing!
